Music Program Volunteer
I have supported musical organizations as a volunteer administrator and search committee member and provided AV recording and production services for ensembles and individuals on a volunteer basis.
Since 2008, I have coordinated audio/video production for Music and Art at Trinity, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides high quality musical programming free of charge to diverse audiences in downtown, Cleveland, OH.
To engage audiences during pipe organ concerts in the cathedral space, I developed a video projection system that allows the audience to view a video image of the organist playing from a loft console. I’ve customized the system for other venues and have provided consulting to organizations wishing to replicate the capability.
As an instrumentalist, I have performed as a member of amateur and semi-professional ensembles on flute, viola, and violin. For the past fifteen years, my singular passion has been small ensemble choral singing, particularly sacred Renaissance polyphony, and I’ve been privileged to sing Choral Evensong and Compline services on a weekly basis. I currently sing with two professional vocal ensembles based in Cleveland, Ohio: the Trinity Chamber Singers and Contrapunctus Early Music High Voices Ensemble.
Public Outreach Speaker
As an advocate for hearing loss prevention, I speak to students and the general public at community fairs and events about recreational noise hazards. Customized presentations include seminars for orchestral musicians and music educators.
Throughout my career, I’ve been a strong supporter of programs that promote STEM education, especially those that expose female students to careers in engineering. I’ve participated as a speaker and panelist in career role-modeling outreach presentations to pre-college students and have served as an organizer of programs that sponsor career outreach events.
